Diesel fuel is a liquid product used as a fuel in the internal combustion diesel engine as well as in gas-diesel engines. This type of fuel is obtained from kerosene and gasoil fractions of direct distillation of crude oil. Diesel fuel is a mixture of alkanes, cycloalkanes and aromatic hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Its average molecular weight is 110-230 and its boiling point is 170-380 °C. Its order number according to the UN system is 1202, class 3. A distinction is made between so-called winter and summer diesel fuel. - Summer Diesel: Density: max 860 kg/m³. Flash point: 62 degrees Celsius. Freezing temperature: -5 °C - Winter Diesel: Density: max. 840 kg/m³. Flash Point: 40 °C. Freezing temperature: -35 °C.
