Hexane application:

In oil production, hexane is the best agent for dissolving paraffin plugs.
Hexane is also used in nanotechnology, in particular iron nanopowder is necessarily wetted with hexane to prevent self-ignition in the air.
In aromatization of petroleum products and catalytic reforming, hexane is dehydrocyclized into benzene.
